Kathmandu, 18 May 2017:The organizers of Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM 2017), the historic B2B mart which is being held from the 1st of June to the 4th of June, in Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Kathmandu. is nearing the end of it’s preparation, so far, 62 delegates from all over the world have been confirmed to attend the main event, as buyers and 42 participating companies will be exhibiting their businesses as sellers.
After the 2015 Earthquake devastated Nepal’s infrastructure, tourism in Nepal took a major setback and growth has been stunted. However, Himalayan Travel Mart, is an event with an ambition to shoot up Nepal’s tourism inflow. It aims to highlight the Himalayan region as an ultimate gateway for adventure and outdoor activities. “We hope that this event will boost the number of tourists visiting Nepal and our neighboring nations.” Says , Mr. Suman Pandey, Chairman of PATA Nepal Chapter, the main organizer behind the HTM.
The international Delegates have started arriving at Kathmandu, from today May 17th, the ground handling team, mostly Tourism and Hospitality students, have all been set up to receive the VIP guests. “Our volunteers, have specially been trained in MICE tourism, for almost 2 months, and are prepared to receive guests, and transfer them to their hotels .”
PATA has also taken the initiative to place, help desk and information counter at Tribhuvan International Airport, where volunteers, will be providing them with all required information, Mobile SIM Cards and airport to hotel transfers.
