Mr. Basanta Raj Mishra, Chairman of the Temple Tiger Group, Nepal has been elected by Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), an International Organization, as the “Secretary & Treasurer” of the new Executive Committee during its 63rd Annual General Meeting held at Zhuhai, China from 16th– 18th May, 2014. Simultaneously, PATA elected Eight Members to the Executive Committee in which Mr. Scott Supernaw and Mr. Kevin Murphey both Americans were elected as Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively. Hon. Ramon Jimenez Jr., Minister of Tourism from Philippines and Four others were elected as members to the Executive Board. Executive Committee shall have Twelve Members including Four representing various committees of PATA.
A renowned figure of Nepalese Tourism Industry, Mr. Mishra has served as an Executive Member to Nepal Tourism Board right after it’s initiation and was Chairman of PATA Nepal Chapter from 1992 to 1996. This is the highest position a Nepali National has achieved since Nepal joined PATA in 1975. In the same event, Mr. Suman Pandey, Chairman of PATA Nepal Chapter has been elected as member and Mr. Ashok Pokharel, President of NATO as proxy member to the Board of PATA.
