PATA Nepal Chapter concluded the 2nd edition of the PATA Youth Talent Quest (YTQ2018) today with the successful completion of the two competitions –Public Speaking and Content Writing amongst the members of its student chapter.
PATA Nepal Chapter CEO, Mr. Suresh Singh Budal attended the 10th Meeting of Nepal-China’s Tibet Joint Tourism Coordination Committee held in Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) of People’s Republic of China from 22nd to 25th July 2018. The Nepal Delegation was led by Mr. Danduraj Ghimire, Director General, Department of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Nepal whereas TAR of China Delegation was led by Mr. Dawa Ciren, Deputy Secretary-General of TAR Government.
PATA Nepal Chapter Team comprising Mr. Sunil Sakya (Chairman), Mr. Bibhuti Chand Thakur (General Secretary), Mr. Shiva Prasad Dhakal (Treasurer) and Mr. Suresh Singh Budal (CEO) attended the inauguration ceremony of the restoration and seismic strengthening of Gaddi Baithak and other AFCP sites in Kathmandu Durbar Square. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated heritage site Gaddi Baithak at Basantapur Durbar Square on Wednesday morning,27th June 2018 after completion of its restoration. This 110-year-old historical site was destroyed during April 2015 earthquake. It took three years to restore this Gaddi Baithak project which was funded by U.S Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP),2015 and implemented by Kathmandu Valley Preservation Trust in collaboration with Nepal Government’s Department of Archaeology. “New air corridors are essential once the new international airports of Nepal start to operate. For the international airports at Pokhara, Nijgadh and Bhairawa, we need more air corridors. So, the government should look for more air corridors too.”
