We are here by informing everyone about, the long awaited , Himalayan Travel Mart, which is going to be held from the 1st of June to the 4th of June , at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Kathmandu.
The HTM is a B2B event, which aims towards, bringing together the finest of travel tour operators, collaborating together in catering to a world wide gathering of: international Buyers, ranging from Tour operators, Travel agencies, Hotels, Airline companies, e.t c, And also, showcasing, Nepal as an international gateway for tourism, for the entire Himalayan Region. Even though PATA Nepal has held such B2B opportunities for promotion of tourism in Nepal 6 times before, this will be the first time, Nepal will be hosting a Travel Mart, with the support of The Government of Nepal, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, and Nepal Tourism Board and PATA Nepal chapter as the main event organizers.
More than 60 international Buyers and delegates, along with more than 50 regional sellers will be participating in the event.
The highlight of the Travel mart will be the HTM conference, which will bring together travel specialists from around the world, who will focus on the topic; Travel Branding and Regional Market Exploration and Research.
With the new technological advancement in online platforms to showcase one’s travel photos and experiences, instantly, it has given an absolute rise in the demand for online media and promotion. Addressing to the need and importance of such internet based promotional platforms, the Himalayan Travel Mart will also be hosting, an International Travel Media and Bloggers (ITBMC) meet, for the first time in Nepal. Where we will see a gathering of more than 100 online blogging, media houses and journalists will be attending this conference. The ITBMC conference will be held on the 1st of June at Park Village Resort, Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu.
On this occasion, the entire tourism fraternity of Nepal have partnered with PATA Nepal, to show their support , our organizing member associations are; Hotel Association of Nepal, Nepal Association of Travel and Tours (NATTA),Trekking Association of Nepal (TAAN),Nepal Mountaineering Association(NMA), NATTO, SATO,TOURGAN,RABAN, Himalayan Rescue Association,Climbers Operators Association, Airlines Operators Association, VITOF, Pokhara Tourism Council, Nepal Tourist Transportation Association.
The official hospitality partners for HTM is Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza, and the official Airline company being, Air India. For the ITBMC, the official Hotel partner is KGH group. At the same time, Hotels from Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan, have shown their full support by proving around 1200 Rooms for the attendees. Supporting Airlines companies like Turkish Airlines, Thai Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Air Arabia have shown their support by sponsoring, partial and full free air tickets for the event attendees. The total sponsorship being around Rs. 3 crores, while the remaining sponsorship budget has been provided by Nepal Tourism Board.
Given the flow of tourists from China and India, Nepal is in need to boost it’s MICE tourism to its full potential, hence, a total of 60 Tourism and Hospitality students from around 8 Tourism Colleges, have been appointed as the official volunteers and ground and logistical support for the entire HTM event. The students have been given training on MICE Tourism for the past two months, preparing them to handle all national and international delegates.
For a long time Nepal’s tourism sector has seen a very slow growth, especially after being affected by the 2015 Earthquake, which had left Nepal’s Tourism absolutely crippled. The Himalayan Travel Mart, is going to be a national level event, which targets at re-introduce Nepal and other Regional countries, as an ultimate travel, trekking and adventure destination to the whole world, hence, it is requested that, an event as historic as this, to be shown an absolute and unbiased support from not just the tourism industry but various sectors, specially, the government, the tourism board, all political and non political, financial and social associations, including, the entire nation.
