Climate change and the ongoing pandemic have time and again proven how interconnected mankind is and sustainable practices are the only way forward. Peace, Environment and Tourism are three closely interrelated areas of importance to mankind especially for a country like Nepal whose natural beauty and mountainous terrain attracts approx. 1.2 million (in 2019) tourists every year.
Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Nepal, PATA Nepal Chapter, Blinc Ventures, IAVE, Engage Nepal and other partners have teamed up to organize an Asia- Pacific Forum on “Peace, Environment and Tourism” that will highlight existing sustainable models implemented by youth while exploring new ways of information sharing and business while the world went into lockdown.
This conference will also build on the Smart and Green City initiative and Youth enterprise mode to bring youth, researchers and social enterprise practitioners, policymakers and planners, government and international development agencies, civil society organizations, and entrepreneurs together into a common forum to exchange knowledge and experiences to better understand the close interrelationship among the three sectors to find pathways for peace, and to advance models and best practice solutions across the region with emphasis on youth.
