Dr. Sudha Sharma Dr. Sudha Sharma is the former Secretary of Ministry of Health and Population, an obstetrician-gynecologist and a public health expert with major experiences in clinical care, health systems and quality of care. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, UK and holds a master’s degree in Public Health. She has served as President of the Nepal Medical Association, President of Nepal Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, President the South Asian Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chair of Education Committee of the Asia Oceana Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has received many national and international awards including a woman of the year award from FIGO for her contributions to women’s health. She has served as an advisor to various UN agencies, WHO and international NGOs and also held important positions including Professor and Director of Propakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital. She served as Chief 80 of Health and Nutrition in UNICEF Tanzania during which she also served as the Chair of the Development Partners Group and contributed to developing Health Sector Strategic Plan, National Nutrition Strategy, Big Results Now initiative and Investment case for GFF, among many others. More recently, she served as a consultant to the Ministry of Health and Population/DFID and led the development of Safe Motherhood and Newborn Health Roadmap 2030.
