Prof. Kaye Chon 

Professor Kaye Chon is Dean, Chair Professor and Walter Kwok Foundation Professor in International Hospitality Management of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

In his academic career which spans over 30 years, Professor Chon received numerous international awards and prizes for outstanding contributions to scholarship as well as teaching and research in hospitality and tourism. In 2011, he was honoured by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) with the prestigious UNWTO Ulysses Prize. The Ulysses Prize is widely considered the “Nobel Prize in Tourism” and is awarded to a distinguished scholar for lifetime contribution to the creation of knowledge in the tourism field.

He has published over 200 papers in international journals and professional publications and has authored or edited 10 books. One of his textbooks, Welcome to Hospitality: An Introduction, has been adopted as a textbook in more than 100 hospitality and tourism schools worldwide. He is currently the Chief Editor of the Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing and the Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research

Professor Chon is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Georgia State University, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, and Virginia Tech.
