Nepal Mourns the Loss of a Global Mountaineering Icon — Nims Dai and Team
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter extends its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy on the tragic loss of Nirmal "Nims Dai" Purja and the members of his expedition team in the avalanche on Broad Peak, Pakistan.
Nims Dai was more than a mountaineer — he was a global icon who put Nepal on the world map through his extraordinary achievements, breaking records once thought impossible and inspiring generations of adventurers, guides, and travelers alike. His legacy has been instrumental in showcasing Nepal's rich mountaineering heritage and the courage of its people to the world.
