PATA Nepal Chapter Shares “SMART Practices For Managing Hotels" Among Stakeholders In Lumbini

PATA Nepal Chapter successfully concluded a week-long Human Capital Development (HCD) training program on “SMART Practices for managing Hotels” from July 1-6 at Buddha Maya Garden in Lumbini.

PATA Nepal Chapter- School of Hospitality, a wing of PATA Nepal Chapter conducted the training program in collaboration with Nepal Tourism Board (Organizing Partner), Buddha Maya Garden (Hospitality Partner) and Residency Hotel Academy (Implementation Partner) which witnessed enthusiastic participation of 34 executives and staff working at 17 different hotels and restaurants in the Lumbini region.

“PATA Nepal Chapter-School of Hospitality” is a Human Capacity Building Training and Certification Program comprising a series of practical and integrated training approaches involving leading Tourism and Hospitality Institutions, Industry practitioners, and Young Tourism Professionals at PATA Nepal Chapter. The program offers a precise and interactive curriculum of short-term duration ranging from Full day training to week(s) long training workshop, such educational program aims to build, upgrade and strengthen the Human Capitals engaged in and around the existing as well as emerging tourism destinations in Nepal.

This HCD Training was organized with an aim to upgrade and enhance the existing knowledge, skill, and most essentially the attitude required as a hospitality professional;  building skilled, qualified and sustainable employees and executives; and maintaining the consistency in quality and standards of tourism products and services in the most promising tourism destination of our country- LUMBINI.

The training put emphasis on the need and SMART(Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-bound) practices for responsible and profitable hotel business operation including the key topics such as Hospitality and Attributes, Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B Production and Service management skills and attributes, Customer Retention, Waste Management and  Optimum Resource Utilization, Effective Menu engineering, etc.

Mr Khem Lakai, Executive Committee Member of PATA Nepal Chapter also inspired all the participants emphasizing on the power of Human Capitals for the success of any business and shading light on the scopes and opportunities in Tourism and Hospitality Industry. He extended thanks to all the trainers, supporting partners, sponsors and delivered the joint Certification of PATA Nepal Chapter and Nepal Tourism Board to all the participants.
