PATA Nepal Chapter Team comprising Mr. Sunil Sakya (Chairman), Mr. Bibhuti Chand Thakur (General Secretary), Mr. Shiva Prasad Dhakal (Treasurer) and Mr. Suresh Singh Budal (CEO) attended the inauguration ceremony of the restoration and seismic strengthening of Gaddi Baithak and other AFCP sites in Kathmandu Durbar Square on Wednesday, 27th June 2018. 

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated heritage site Gaddi Baithak at Basantapur Durbar Square after completion of its restoration. This 110-year-old historical site was destroyed during the April 2015 earthquake. It took three years to restore this Gaddi Baithak project which was funded by U.S Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP),2015 and implemented by Kathmandu Valley Preservation Trust in collaboration with Nepal Government’s Department of Archaeology.
