Nepal’s Tourism Showcase at ITB Berlin 2024
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter, in collaboration with the 40 diverse tourism and hospitality business companies from the private sector of tourism in Nepal, has made an active participation for promoting and showcasing the destination Nepal, renowned for its nature, adventure, and culture at the ITB Berlin 2024 held from 5th to 7th March at Messe Berlin, Germany.
ITB Berlin is the world’s leading and largest travel trade show and this year ITB brought together the global tourism industry buyers and trade visitors with over 5,500 exhibitors from 170 countries. Oman, the Official Host Country of ITB Berlin, impressed the audience at the official opening event with a spectacular show, promoting Oman as an attractive tourism destination.
On the opening day of ITB Berlin 2024, H.E. Ram Kaji Khadka, Ambassador of Nepal to Germany, inaugurated the Nepal Pavilion. During the inaugural session, he welcomed all Nepali delegates, extending congratulations and appreciation to PATA Nepal Chapter and the entire private sector in Nepal's tourism fraternity. H.E. commended their efforts for ensuring Nepal’s significant and impressive presence at the world's largest platform for tourism promotion.
The spectacular product display with the Stupa-centered themed Pavilion of Nepal was located at the regular space of Nepal at ITB, Hall 5.2a Stand 127 at the ITB Exhibition grounds. The Nepal Pavilion featured diverse products and service providers, including adventure operators, airlines, hoteliers, tour operators, mountaineering, trekking, and expedition operators, as well as medical and wellness enterprises, all offering transformative, immersive, and unforgettable lifetime experiences in Nepal.
At ITB, PATA Nepal Chapter has also promoted the Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM), Nepal’s homegrown premiere international travel and trade show, scheduled for its 5th edition from June 4th to 7th in the historic city of Kathmandu. HTM is an annual event in Nepal, envisioned and managed by PATA Nepal Chapter. It is graciously hosted by the Ministry of Tourism and supported by the Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Airlines, PATA International, and other prominent tourism associations, as well as private sector tourism businesses in Nepal. Each year, HTM brings together a remarkable gathering of Global Buyers, Diverse Sellers, Travel Bloggers, Influencers, National and International Media, and Travel Industry Professionals and Delegates from around the world.
The Chairman of PATA Nepal Chapter, Mr. Bibhuti Chad Thakur, expressed gratitude to all Nepalese exhibitors for their active participation at ITB Berlin 2024, emphasizing their crucial role in ensuring the success of Nepal's representation. He affirmed PATA Nepal’s commitment to ongoing tourism marketing and promotion, expressing joy in maintaining and promoting Nepal’s image at one of the world’s premier travel hubs.
Senior Tourism Professional, Mr. Bijaya Amatya conveyed his satisfaction with Nepal’s impressive presentation, acknowledging the high number of participants and the stand’s attractive decoration. He appreciated PATA Nepal’s efforts and expressed optimism for the future growth of the travel business in Nepal.
Mr. Rupesh Joshi, Director of Sales and Marketing of Buddha Air, expressed gratitude to PATA Nepal and private sector participants for contributing to the impressive presence at ITB 2024, despite limited government support this year.
