PATA Nepal chapters’ presence in PATA Travel Mart 2015

The Tourism department of Government of Karnataka hosted the 38th PATA Travel Mart 2015 from September 6-8, 2015 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Center (BIEC), India attended by over 1,000 delegates from over 60 countries. This three day niche event facilitated over 10,000 pre-fixed appointments and bought together qualified international buyers and sellers for one-on-one meets, educational forums and to expand network.

PATA Nepal Chapter (PNC) participated in the B2B meet at the PTM 2015 from 6- 8 September, 2015 and prior to the PTM 2015, PNC in affiliation with Nepal Tourism Board hosted a day event comprising of Press meet succeeded by “Nepal back on top of the world” reception on September 4, 2015.

Press Meet- 4th September 2015

PNC in correspondence with PTM 2015 organized a Media conference to address local Indian media representatives and media delegates from Nepal at the Press club of Bangalore. Over 70 journalists and reporters were present at the meet jointly organized by Nepal Tourism Board and PNC.  Mr. Suman Pandey (Chairman, PNC) addressed the media delegates on how Nepal has moved on with its recovery approaches and is all set for a comeback aftermath of earthquake. Mr. Pandey also mentioned that all the essential provisions are enact to ensure the safety of all tourists who have or are planning to travel to Nepal.

Nepal Back On top Of the World reception – September 4, 2015

On the evening of 4 September 2015, PNC with Nepal Tourism Board hosted “Nepal back on top of the world” reception at Taj Vivanta in Bangalore in honor of the International and Indian Tour Operators, Media and delegates of the PTM 2015 attended by over 250 guests. The event underlined new resolution to reinstating Nepal Airlines operation to Bangalore after 6 years gap from September 1, 2015. Moreover, a token of appreciation was awarded to Mr. Andrew Jones (Vice Chairman, PATA) and Mr. Bert Van Walbeek for their contribution with PATA Nepal Tourism Rapid Recovery Task Force which has been acknowledged by the Nepal Tourism Promotion Committee for further implementation. The dinner followed cultural dance performances to emphasize the culture and the beauty of Nepal to those present announcing that Nepal is all set to welcome tourists.

The B2B Event

PNC also held a B2B session at PATA Travel Mart 2015 led by Mr. Suman Pndey (Chairman, PNC) and Ms.Ujwala Dali (Officiating Director, Tourism Marketing & Promotion,  Nepal Tourism Board).  Nine private companies, NTB and six travel journalists from Nepal participated under the Nepal Pavilion at the Mart.  About 11,254 business appointments were conducted successfully at PTM 2015 by 456 Sellers and 242 Buyers. The Nepal Pavilion received immense support and witnessed the most visitors to the booth. This interface acted as a catalyst to close the gap that was created after the 25/04 Earthquake.
