PATA Nepal Chapter concluded the 2nd edition of the PATA Youth Talent Quest (YTQ2018) today with the successful completion of the two competitions –Public Speaking and Content Writing amongst the members of its student chapter.
PATA Youth Talent Quest (YTQ) is a campaign to uncover talented young tourism professionals that provides a platform among the students from PATA Nepal Chapter member colleges to compete and showcase their talent in different aspects (including Public Speaking, Content Writing, and others); empowering them with the necessary training, involvement, and exposure to PATA Nepal Chapter programs and activities, and engaging them in the best possible way to carve their successful future endeavours.
The Grand Finale of the 2nd YTQ on Public Speaking Competition was held on Sunday, 5th August 2018 at Nepal Academy of Tourism & Hospitality (NATHM), Ravibhawan, Kathmandu. This year, PATA Nepal Chapter introduced the two key topics or contemporary concerns of Nepali Tourism as the topics for the competition- 1. SWOT Analysis for Marketing NEPAL at the present context. , and 2. Measures to sustain the Human Capitals of Nepal; Steps toward preventing Brain-Drain.
The event kicked off by a welcome speech from Chairman of PATA Nepal Chapter, Mr. Sunil Sakya where 8 students took part as contestants from 8 different PATA Nepal Chapter Member colleges namely GATE, Silver Mountain, PYC, IST, NCTTM, KATH, NATHM and MID-VALLEY Int’l.
During the welcome remarks, Mr. Sakya highlighted on the objective of organizing this YTQ as a part of the Human Capital Development Campaign of PATA Nepal Chapter. He thanked every participant and Supportive partners including Nepal Airlines, NATHM and Nepal Traveler for their valuable contribution in making the 2nd edition of YTQ a grand success.
The Public Speaking competition was judged by a panel of experts including Mr. Dipendra Purush Dhakal- Former Secretary of Ministry of Culture Tourism & Civil Aviation, Mr. Sunil Sakya- Chairman of PATA Nepal Chapter and Mr. Prabhat Rimal- CEO of Vogue Ad. & Event Management P. Ltd.
Mr. Dipendra Purush Dhakal appreciated the very needful initiative taken by PATA Nepal Chapter and extended thanks to every contestant for being equally competent as each possesses the ability to be recognized as the Winner.
Similarly, the “Content Writing Competition” was organized today inviting 8 another Winner Students from 8 different PNC member colleges where the students showcased their skills and competency for content writings on various tourism and hospitality-related topics. The judgment of this contest was undertaken by the Founder and CEO of Nepal Traveller, Mr. Terence Lee.
Ms. Tamanna Pradhan from International School of Tourism and Hotel Management (IST) was announced as the winner of Public Sparking Competition whereas Mr. Jigmay Singhay Lama from Mid Valley Int’l College won the title of Content Writing Competition. The winning students will be rewarded with an opportunity to represent PATA Nepal Student Chapter in the forthcoming PATA Travel Mart to be held from September 12-14, in Langkawi, Malaysia.
PATA Nepal Chapter CEO Mr. Suresh Singh Budal informed that PATA Nepal Chapter has been engaging the young Tourism professionals in most of its Human Capital development training and programs with an aim to build, upgrade and strengthen the existing as well as future human capitals of Nepali tourism fraternity.
