PATA Nepal Concludes Training on “SMART Practices in Restaurant Business”

PATA Nepal Chapter concluded its 2-day training program on “SMART Practices in Restaurant Business” today at Hotel Radisson Kathmandu.

The renowned Recourse Persons from Hong Kong Polytechnic University- Dr. Murray Mackenzie and Mr. Ryan P. Smith shed light on SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound) Practices and latest trends in catering business focusing the key topics as Strategic Menu Design, Restaurant Technology, Food and Wine Pairing (Mixology), Wine tasting Wine Selling and Marketing, Maximizing Restaurant Revenue, etc. An enthusiastic crowd of approximately 190 participants from Hotel, Restaurant, Airlines, and Hotel Management colleges took part in this training.

In addition to the 2-day training session, PATA Nepal Chapter in collaboration with Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal-Pokhara Chapter is conducting One Day Training in Pokhara on 2nd February for the hotel and restaurant industry persons of Pokhara.

During the welcome remarks, Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, the CEO of Nepal Tourism Board emphasized upon the need of this kind of human capital development training to upgrade and strengthen the industry’s service standard and he thanked PATA Nepal Chapter for the continued efforts and initiatives towards it.

PATA Nepal Chapter has been continuously organizing Human Capital Development (HCD) events and activities in the country in order to share the benefits of tourism amongst all stakeholders, and be an effective method of engaging the tourism workforce in local and global tourism-related issues beyond the every-day tasks of employment. HCD is the PATA Nepal Chapter’s mission in line with the spirit of PATA to build, upgrade and strengthen Human Capital of Nepalese tourism fraternity.
