PATA Nepal Student Chapter Kicks off its engagement in New Year with PATA Futsal Tournament 2019

PATA Nepal Student Chapter kicks off its engagement in the new year organizing PATA Futsal Tournament 2019 with support from PATA Nepal Chapter and Nepal Tourism Board that concluded on Saturday, 5th January 2019 at Dhanyantari Futsal Ground in Kathmandu.

The tournament was organized under the theme of “Play for Tourism” as inter-college tournament amongst PATA Nepal Chapter Member Colleges with an aim to develop friendship and close working relationships between PATAns\Young Tourism Professionals who seek the opportunity and platform of youth engagement for the sustainable development of tourism.

The tournament concluded this inter-college futsal competition among Boys and Girls wherein 9 different colleges including GATE, Silver Mountain, KATH, NCTTM, Mid-valley International, NATHM, Public Youth, IST, and Gateway College made active participation in the tournament.

Gateway College of Professional Studies (Boys) and Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (Girls) became champions defeating Silver Mountain College and NCTTM College respectively. The winning teams were rewarded with Trophy, Medals, Certificates, and the cash prize of NRs. 10,000; whereas the First runner-up teams rewarded with Medals and certificates as well as a cash prize of NRs. 5,000. The tournament awarded Mr. Anmol Rai from Silver Mountain College as the Best Goalkeeper and Mr. Ishak Lama from the same college as the Best Player of the tournament. Similarly, in girls’ side, the tournament rewarded Ms. Sandhya Maharjan from NATHM as the Best Goalkeeper and Ms. Swastika Adhikari from the same college as Best Player.

PATA Nepal Chapter Chairman Mr. Sunil Sakya congratulated all the students and PATA Nepal team for the wonderful teambuilding initiative through this futsal tournament, and he emphasized for the need for the same spirit and practices of joint collaboration and forward movements that are very crucial in achieving the envisaged target of 2 million by 2020.

NTB CEO Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi inspired students emphasizing on Health, Discipline, and Team Building as the three fundamentals of each game, and congratulated PATA Nepal Student Chapter team for maintaining and successfully organizing the tournament from all aspects. He further requested all young tourism professionals to embrace the VNY2020 campaign to make it a grand success!!

PATA Nepal Chapter CEO Mr. Suresh Singh Budal informed that this tournament has inspired to foster mutual cooperation, brotherhood, and teambuilding among the members of PATA Nepal Student Chapters at different educational institutions in Nepal.
