PATA Nepal’s Tourism Rapid Recovery Taskforce hands over Report to Nepal Government

Mr. Andrew Jones, Vice Chairman of PATA International handed over the PATA Nepal Tourism Rapid Recovery Taskforce- Report and Recommendations to the Hon’ble Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation in Pokhara on 21 June, 2015. The interaction program on Tourism Recovery was held in the presence of the Rt. Hon’ble Speaker, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of CA, Hon’ble Minister of Finance, members of the Development Committee of the Constituent Assembly and other key tourism experts.

In a different interaction program with the tourism entrepreneurs and officials of the Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu on 22 June, 2015. Mr. Bert Van Walbeek gave the presentation on the Recovery Task Force and the floor was opened for discussions. Mr. Andrew Jones handed over the PATA Nepal Rapid Recovery Task Force to Mr. Ashok Pokharel, Former President of PATA Nepal Chapter.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Walbeekk , who has been playing an integral role in the recovery of Nepali Tourism Industry after the earthquake, he said, “ This is our recommendation based on several reports and assessments made by the stakeholders of the Nepal Tourism Industry. To execute these recommendations with the proper plans and strategies within the next three months is the responsibility of stakeholders of Nepali Tourism Industry.
Similarly, Mr. Jones said PATA International will support Nepal in tourism recovery in every possible way.
