May 8- July 14 2015: Nepal, on April 25, 2015, was hit with a massive earthquake of 7.8 magnitude followed by continued aftershocks throughout Nepal for a month. In the hour of need, PATA Nepal chapter extended all the resources and time to provide temporary relief to the quake victims. In an effort to multiply the aid, on May 5, 2015, PATA Nepal Chapter signed a MoU with “Doctors For you” to conduct the Health Camps in Nuwakot District in coordination and needful cooperation with Local Public Health Office and District Administration Office of Nuwakot, Nepal.
As a partnership in intervention, PNC with “Doctors for you” put in every inch of their effort to aid in the affected. Together they set off precautionary and remedial medical services at Nuwakot, a district with one of the most devastating aftermath of earthquake. Amongst many concerns, access to this district was hindered by the damaged roads and electricity which was overcome by the joint effort. Jointly the team set up base near Panchakanya VDC and managed to organize health camps and spread awareness to the affected up until July 14, 2015.
“Doctors for you” DFY is a pan Indian organization with international presence and working in various disasters hit zones for almost a decade. DFY has played major role in delivering health care services to vulnerable communities, capacity building, and emergency medical aid to people affected by natural disaster, conflicts and epidemics.
