Update on NICE and Himalayan Travel Mart 2020!

Update on NICE and Himalayan Travel Mart 2020!

Owing to the evolving dynamics of the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its growing impact in the tourism industry, and after the thorough discussions at PATA Nepal Chapter Executive Committee, the Nepal India China Expo (NICE), as well as the Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM) 2020 scheduled from June 12-15, 2020 will no longer take place this year.

Though we had lofty objectives of organizing these two major events by PATA Nepal Chapter alongside the national celebrations of Visit Nepal Year 2020, we have come to this very difficult decision of cancelling both our events considering the precautionary measures to be taken with regard to the health and safety of all the delegates and invitees of the event.

We apologize for the inconveniences caused to all related here, but seriously considering the overall safety and well-being of our members, industry stakeholders, guests, and delegates as of utmost importance and concern to us all in achieving our mission for the responsible development of travel and tourism in the country and around the world.

We are pleased to announce that NICE and Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM) will therefore be organized in the year 2021 and the new dates for next year’s events will be announced in due course of time. For those of you delegates who have paid the registration fees for NICE and HTM 2020, you will be availed the option of transferring the registration fee to the respective event next year or, receive a full refund.

At PATA, we continue to encourage all industry stakeholders to remain calm but stay vigilant and take proper precautionary measures as necessary. We look forward to working together for the sustainable promotion and development of tourism in the country with our commitment to helping our members and industry stakeholders in building their business, people, network, brand, and insights.

We hope and pray this disastrous pandemic will soon be over and our lives return to normal.
Wishing you all the very best,

Bibhuti Chand Thakur
